Philosophy of Oak Tree Psychotherapy and Wellness

"Oak Tree" is known as one of the world 's most beloved trees, and for good reason. It is a sign of strength, endurance, protection and wisdom. It is also known as an enduring emblem of strength and survival. Oak trees can live for up to 1,000 years and it goes through various changes during its lifetime.

The firm belief in assisting individuals with their emotional, psychological, and mental well-being. We want to accompany our clients on a journey to live life more meaningfully through the seasons of their lives. We also aim to provide a safe space for client to restore and renew their lives. We support, teach and train our client to take ownership of their emotional, social, psychological and mental well being.

Psychotherapist, Lydia Toh

Lydia has a long history of working in the medical field. She had seen patients with physical, emotional, psychological, and mental health issues. She has also worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and retirees. She has a passion for assisting patients physically, emotionally, and psychologically as an occupational therapist in hospitals. Lydia was awarded an abroad scholarship for specialist rehabilitation training, as well as a merit award for clinical practices and numerous letters of recommendation from patients.


Lydia started her private practice about fifteen years. She has extensive clinical expertise counseling adolescents, adults, couples, and families with their emotional and mental health difficulties. Her experience in counselling and therapy has helped business settings, community services, international schools, and non-profit organizations.


Lydia believes that everyone deserves a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or even the tiniest act of kindness, all of which have the power to change someone's life. During her therapy, she used integrative approaches. Her favorite quote is from Martin Seligman, who said, "Life inflicts the same setbacks and catastrophes on the optimist as on the pessimist, but the optimist weathers." Anyone suffering from the symptoms of a mental illness has reason to be hopeful. Lydia spends her free time practicing mindfulness meditations and mindful walks in the park. She enjoys reading, listening to music, and gathering with family and friends for a wonderful meal.
